Nowcomm are pleased to announce that we are recruiting for a Junior Network Engineer to join our helpdesk team as a 1st line of support to our customers. The role is suitable for former apprentices and graduates who are looking to develop their skillset in a fast-paced, sometimes pressured environment. If you are looking for your first role within IT and have little to no industrial experience, then don’t be discouraged as the right person will receive a wealth of support, training and direction from the helpdesk manager.Some of the key skills we are looking for in prospective candidates are:
• Impeccable attention to detail: you will be working alongside multiple customers to support their network, so attention to detail is important to pick up on and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Desire to learn: you will possess a strong desire to learn and develop your skillset while working at Nowcomm. Over time, with training and support you will be able to handle and resolve cases on your own and even help to advise fellow colleagues with their own cases!
• Excellent communication skills: it is crucial that you have strong verbal and written communication skills as you will be liaising with customers on a regular basis. It is important that advice and guidance is conveyed to customers with clarity and confidence, so that you are viewed as a trusted extension of the customer’s IT team and a strong ambassador for Nowcomm.
• Strong team-working skills: Although over time you will pick up and work on cases on your own initiative, on many instances you will be conferring with colleagues on how best to resolve a problem the customer is facing. So it is important that you can work efficiently on your own and with others.
